The conflict in Nkwanta, marked by devastating losses, compelled its residents to seek refuge in safer nearby towns such as Kue, Kpassa, Dambai, and Bonakye. Amid this turmoil, Sheik Umor, inspired by a profound sense of human compassion, together with other philanthropists, initiated a relief effort targeting the displaced inhabitants of Kue, a modest community nestled in the Nkwanta South district and bordering Togo. Kue, celebrated as the ancestral ground of the Tem Kotokolis in Ghana, thus became a beacon of hope for many.
Understanding the immediate needs of the displaced, Sheik Umor and his fellow donors delivered essential food item comprising rice. Recognizing the importance of education continuity for the young minds of Kue, they also provided teaching and learning materials to the students, aiming to lessen the impact of their displacement on their educational journey,
The food items was received by Queen mother Nana Alimatu Sadia Asissibirissi and the chief imam of Kue Alfa Hasan
Thanks to Alfaa Issah Family, who took the responsibilities of the transportation of the item from Accra to Kue, the item was delivered by Samssoudini Kerim Edasor-edale (P.R.O)
In a heartfelt acknowledgment of local leadership’s role in facilitating these relief efforts, Sheik Umor extended his gratitude to the chief of Kue, Nana Dahud Chedre Brenai II. His acknowledgment served not only as a thank you for the chief’s benevolence but also highlighted the crucial collaboration between philanthropists and local authorities in addressing the humanitarian needs arising from the conflict. This partnership underscored the collective resolve to overcome adversity and rebuild the lives of those affected by the unrest in Nkwanta.
